LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Laser Hair Removal for the Bikini Area
Bikini hair removal is one of the most popular areas because it offers a quick solution to daily shaving and irritation. Many patients say it helps them feel more feminine and less self-conscious.
Laser Hair Removal for Underarm Hair
Laser hair removal is perfect for this area. Underarm hair is a great place to begin with laser hair removal. If you like the results, you may decide to have treatment on other areas of your body.
Laser Hair Removal for Leg Hair
Imagine never having to shave your legs again! Removing leg hair with laser hair removal is the ultimate choice and a fantastic luxury for women.
Laser Hair Removal for Men
Many men use laser hair removal as an alternative to shaving daily, or to minimize hair on certain areas such as the back, chest and/or neck.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Laser hair removal uses a low-energy laser to gently remove unwanted hair. The laser energy passes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. In a fraction of a second, the energy is transformed into heat and the hair follicle is destroyed. Quick and convenient, full face, bikini line, and underarm treatments may take as little as fifteen minutes. Several treatments may be required to destroy hair follicles in different growth cycles. Since the laser targets the pigment of the hair follicle, laser hair removal is most effective on light skinned patients with dark hair.
Since no procedure can guarantee permanent hair removal, most patients can expect a major reduction in hair growth, leaving remaining hairs thinner and lighter in color.
Advantages of Laser Hair Removal
- A safe, effective alternative to daily shaving
- Useful for large or tough to get areas
- Re-growth can come back lighter in color or finer in texture
- Light-skinned patients with dark hair have the best results
- Good for people with sensitive skin
Am I a good candidate for laser removal?
In genera, patients with light skin and dark hair are ideal candidates for laser hair removal. As a rule, the pigment in dark hair absorbs more laser energy, making black or brown hair easier to treat. Light hair, such as blonde, red or gray, contains a pigment that absorbs laser energy less readily, and therefore does not respond as well. While laser treatments for darker skinned patients have improved, patients with tanned skin are not ideal candidates. It’s recommended they wait until their tan fades before proceeding with laser hair removal.
How many laser treatments will I need?
The number of hair removal treatments required for optimal long-term benefits usually depends on the area being treated, the hair density, and the patient’s hair growth cycle. Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication, and metabolism all play a part in a patient’s hair distribution, thickness, and resilience. Total hair removal usually requires 6-8 fifteen minute sessions for optimal results.

This cosmetic procedure uses intense laser light to minimize hair growth on the face, back, chest, breast, abdomen, arms, underarms, bikini area and/or legs. Laser hair removal offers a long lasting, convenient and gentle solution to the problem of unwanted hair.
